In a broad sense I am interested in future climate and the way that vegetation interacts with climate.

My current research aims to improve understanding of the sensitivity of the climate system Рland surface interactions to changes in biogeophysical forcings (e.g. evapotranspiration, albedo, surface roughness, etc. Рsee cartoon below). This research spans different temporal scales, from seasonal means to decadal and centennial projections, as well as deliberate (geoengineering), inadvertent (land use change) and natural changes to biogeophysical forcings.

To explore these questions, I use computer models, notably climate models made by the UK Hadley Centre.
